
Winnie V. Mitullah is a Research Professor of Development Studies and UNESCO UNITWIN Chair at the Institute for Development Studies (IDS) University of Nairobi. She has a BA and MA in Government from the University of Nairobi, and a PhD from the University of York, UK. Mitullah has researched and published in the areas of road safety, paratransit and NMT. Her recent publications in these areas include an edited volume, `Non-Motorised Transport Integration into Urban Transport Planning in Africa’. She is the coordinator of transport research at the IDS; patron of Kenya Transport Researchers Network (KTRN) hosted by the IDS, Board member, Swedish International Center for Local Democracy, former Board Member of the Sustainable Low Carbon Transport (SLoCaT) partnership and former Director for Afrobarometer Surveys Eastern Africa region.
