Karen Tapia is an architect and urban planner from Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. Her work focuses on articles and researches related to social housing, settlements, and progressive urbanism in Cusco. Her research has been presented in seminars in Cusco, Lima, and Paris. She received the Research Initiation Support Program (PAIN 2019) and the Regional BIALIMA Undergraduate Research Award in 2021. Karen has worked as an architect at PUCP’s Infrastructure Department and the Ministry of Housing, Construction, and Sanitation, including the General Directorate of Accessibility and Technological Development. She is also the General Project Coordinator at Paisajes Educativos, a volunteer association implementing urban interventions focused on nature and childhood, funded by Korea SHE Foundation and Bernard Van Leer Foundation.
