Dr. Anne Wairimu Kamau is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Development Studies, University of Nairobi. Her research interests include informal transport and social protection, the future of work for women in public transport and gender based violence, and children travel and safety. Anne coordinates the Kenya Transport Researchers Network and convenes the Socially Just Public Transport Working Group in Kenya with the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung. Her publications include: ‘Informal transport worker organizations and social protection provision in Kenya’; ‘Women Entrepreneurs Creating Value in the Informal Public Transport Enterprises in Kenya’; and ‘Is Kenya’s Public Transport Socially Just?’.
