Prof Bradley Rink is a human geographer interested in movements, circulations and metabolism of/in African cities. From a geographical perspective, these have bearing on the mobilities of cities, on citizenship and on urban place-making. His research has evolved from a concern over urban quartering on the neighbourhood scale to embrace local/global and mundane/extraordinary mobilities that shape cities and belonging. The development of his research has continued along this urban trajectory, finding a critical niche in mobilities studies that highlights the role of movements and circulations of humans, non-human animals, capital, objects and information in shaping the urban form and urban life.
